Happy Fun, Free Friday lovelies!
The Eclipse by Jacob Hashimoto
I love art installations that make use of or seem to naturally fit into its venue. The Eclipse by Jacob Hashimoto is an exhibit of 15,000 white and black paper kites displayed high in the Chapel of St. Cornelius on Governor’s Island. His work celebrates handicraft (whoa, imagine hand making all those kites!) This simple and striking display resembles contrasting clouds in the sky. I imagine there must be the loveliest slight movements as well. I’m bummed I won’t get to see it before it ends on October 31st.
Otherwise, this weekend I am…
…going to try to get back into the swing of things. I’ve been pretty busy so haven’t posted as much as I’d like, but will share a few cool things. Also, my husband finally has this bug that the kids and I have been nursing for a while. Unfortunately, he gets man flu which means his symptoms are dramatically worse than ours, ahem. So we’ll have a chill weekend and I’ll make pumpkin soup and another soup recommended by Ina or Martha. What are some of your favorite soups?
What are you up to this weekend?
Have a lovely weekend!
That is a stunning exhibition! And yes, I totally understand what you mean by men’s cold/flu symptoms are usually worse than others. LOL!
Oh wow, what a stunning installation – it must have taken forever to make by hand, but it’s worth it as it’s really striking. Looks so good in the photos.
Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell – hope everyone and your hubby feel better soon. Pumpkin soup is my fave 🙂
Hope that you are having a lovely weekend 🙂 We are getting some much-needed rain here which is fantastic. Does mean we aren’t doing what we had planned though, haha!
