Wouldn’t it be something to have Oprah’s job? Well, first you’d have to pick which job you’d want – (former) award-winning TV host, celebrated actress, philanthropist championing girl’s education, producer, or media mogul (why stop at your own show when you can have your own channel and magazine)? I saw these gorgeous pictures ofĀ Oprah by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott for UK Vogue August 2018 and thought about her many amazing roles. I would seriously love holding any and all of them as well. Ā It’s amazing to see her career changes and progressions. Ā I also do some volunteer work, but have been thinking about doing more. Ā There are so many underserved communities and causes that could always use an extra pair of hands and more capital to keep going!
In addition, I want to take Oprah’s words to heart to keep going. I was in the running for a very cool role in a new group, but learned recently I wouldn’t be getting an offer. Ā While I tried to bounce back, it was tough to be so close, but yet so far. Ā But of course, it’s not the first time I haven’t gotten a job. Seriously, how are actors ok with so much rejection? Ā I’m still going to put myself forth if I find another cool opportunity and try not to be too bummed out. Ā I may have failed this time, but will keep on trying and hopefully find something even better. Ā So allow yourself time to moan over your failures, but don’t let them stop you from moving forward. Ā Greatness may just be on the other side of that failure!

Oh how fabulous it would be to be Oprah! She has an incredible career for sure but even more impressive is how much she gives back.

thanks for sharing her words as well as your thoughts. The older I get, The more I fear and worry about things. Rejection isn’t something we can get easily used to no matter how many times. I am sure there will be better opportunities for you in the near future. As you said, we just need to keep going.
