When you ask someone to jump for the camera the mask falls, so the real person appears.
Philippe Halsman
I love the girly and playful jump by the always lovely Audrey Hepburn above. The lady is still there, but she is leaping without a care in the world – no poses, no thoughts about the perfect angle.
Life isn’t always picture perfect, but it can still be beautiful. Here’s to celebrating those candid and true moments…
Lucky New Yorkers, there is an exhibit of famous figures jumping photographed by Philippe Halsman. “Philippe Halsman: Jump†continues through Friday, May 28th at the Laurence Miller Gallery, 20 West 57th Street, Manhattan; , laurencemillergallery.com.
Oh fun to know! I might check it out…I have a little down time this week 🙂
You are right, life is not perfect but it is beautiful in different ways. : )
I think jump shots are so charming! And it doesn’t get much more charming than Ms. Hepburn!

I recently saw a whole lot of his pictures posted somewhere on the net, don’t remember where though. I loved how he made everyone jump, even royals. Great photos!
That’s it. Every photo on my blog from now on will be of me jumping. 😉
Wish I could go to that exhibition – sounds fun.
Love it!

This photo is fantastic! Audrey in a jumping pic is the best thing ever.
I love the quote at the beginning of the post. Audrey Hepburn is wonderful, and I’ve read a biography about her written by her son and she seemed like just the sweetest thing ever!
Love this picture of her.
Love,
Rachel
