Love is the dawn of marriage, and marriage is the sunset of love
French proverb
(my photo, outside Ku de ta, Bali 2010)
We’re back from our anniversary/Mr. Spend ‘n Chomp’s birthday. Β It was filled with meals on beaches, white water rafting, and meanderings through local markets (posts coming soon). Β This is the first trip we’ve taken since we’ve gotten married where we weren’t accompanied by or met friends and family along the way. Β It was a fantastic way to celebrate our first year of marriage – one that was filled with a return to student times, moving to two countries, and finally creating a new life together here (we expect to be here quite a few years).
Some say the first year of marriage is tough, Β It wasn’t for us though we certainly encountered challenging times in regards to the moves and the uncertainty. Β But we’ve been solid listeners, supporters, and partners through it all. Β It’s a daily process and one you get better at along the way.
Here’s to love, marriage, and ending the day together beautifully.
Have a lovely week!
aww, i agree with the last part =)
Happy anniversary! It looks like you found a wonderful way to celebrate together!
That a very senusous French quote – one readon more why I live in France and adore all things French. Welcome back to Blogland, my lovely!

Happy anniversary and best wishes for many more!

The first year of marriage was the hardest for us, but we had never lived together so there was definitely some adjusting. I think we’ve found what works for us now–knock on wood!
