When I think of cucumber and yogurt, I initially think “Mmm, tzatziki/raita!”
But now I see these ingredients in a whole different light. I was inspired by blogger buddy Elle to really think about the ingredients in my skincare and to consider the beneficial properties of products I may already have at home. This mask is also perfect for spring/summer as we are out and about more – our skin needs to look its best now!
I’ve done a lot of research now on natural ingredients and started to accumulate a few new ingredients that I will be both be consuming and using for skincare (mmm, coconut oil!) This gives a whole new dimension to “You are what you eat”! But more importantly, I am happy because I know exactly what I am using in my skincare. I’m researching and developing more recipes and will share them as well!
DIY Pore Minimizing Yogurt Cucumber Mask
Ingredients
- 1/2 tablespoon grated cucumber
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
Preparation and instructions
1. Mix all ingredients together to create a thick liquid.
2. Apply mixture to your face and leave on for 30 minutes (be careful of your hairline!) Mask will harden slightly and dry.
3. Wash mask thoroughly with warm water. Are you feeling refreshed yet?
Benefit Rundown
- Yogurt contains lactic acid, a mild alpha hydroxy, which helps to hydrate the skin.
- Yogurt’s lactic acid also promotes health skin turnover
- Cucumber cools skin and helps to tighten facial pores
Hmmm…looks good, I shall have to give it a try :)) Have a great day doll xx
