Happy Fun, Free Friday lovelies!
Extraordinary paper cuttings by Pippa Dyrlaga
Paper art is fascinating. Artists can use many mediums, but at least some are fixable or evolve if the artist makes a mistake. But once an artist chooses to make a particular paper cut design, they are pretty much set. After all, the paper is gone or shape already set! Of course the material is also quite delicate as well making the piece difficult to handle at all times. I saw these extraordinary paper cuttings by Pippa Dyrlaga and love the whimsical shapes. She makes such intricate pieces of floral, fauna, and fun pop culture characters. What’s more amazing is that she designs as she goes along. Here are a few favorite pieces:
Otherwise, this weekend I am…
…going to a few parties. There’s a party in our complex and my friend is also finally leaving Singapore. He has been here just over 10 years and is moving somewhere in NY for his kids. We don’t see my friend too often, but he’s been an unofficial big brother to me since grad school. I guess we’ll have to see them back in NY some day! Such is the expat life…we’re all coming and going at some point!
What are you up to this weekend?
Have a lovely weekend!

I can’t even imagine the excruciating amount of details and patience that went into creating each piece, they are remarkable!
Those are awesome!
Oh what incredible designs! She is so very talented, especially to make up the design as she goes along! 🙂
Hope that you had a great weekend at your friend’s farewell party! We had a nice and relaxing one here, which was lovely.
