Off the shoulder tops are EVERYWHERE right? But what are the best off the shoulder tops now?
I’m not always one to give into every trend. But I really like the off the shoulder top look. I last had an off the shoulder top sometime in college and it was a cute, ruffled top that I loved to wear with floral skirts (it may still be in my closet at my parent’s house! #alreadyvintage) I’ve been seeing off the shoulder tops everywhere in magazines and on bloggers and I surprisingly really like the modern version of the off the shoulder tops.
The best off the shoulder tops seem to have a few elements:
- They are loose-fitting, but still skim your body (you’re not totally swimming them)
- They come in a variety of sleeve types – the long sleeves are especially great for making a casual outfit look more formal
- They are now in longer cuts making them a bit more wearable
- They may have beautiful ruffles or exaggerated draping (to hide that overindulgent summer meal!)
I’m totally loving the MLM and Stylus tops below (J.C. Penney – seriously?!) I’m glad I’ll be trying on a few styles in NYC in a few weeks. Oh the possibilities!
