Happy Fun, Free Friday lovelies!
Out of focus paintings by Philip Barlow
I have terrible eyesight. I’ve unwillingly worn glasses since I was about 8 or 9 years old. At first, I only needed them to see the blackboard. But eventually, my eyesight was so poor I just needed to wear glasses or contact lenses all the time. When I see the world with my naked eyes, I see vague shapes and colors. Nothing is quite in focus and is a bit blurred. I thought these out of focus paintings by Philip Barlow were quite beautiful and represent that in such an artful way. See the world through bokeh eyes!
Otherwise, this weekend I am…
…continuing my cleaning and organizing kick! I have slowly been getting rid of a lot of stuff in the house from the bathroom to the kid’s rooms. I’m gathering them for straight disposal, donation or sale. In addition, I’ve bought into organization boxes and love how it’s helped us use the space in our bathroom and closet (both awkwardly shaped!) I’m contemplating a few boxes from Container Store which hopefully would ship here! I love it when everything is organized and easy to get!
What are you up to this weekend?
Have a lovely weekend!
Ah, so these are paintings! I feel soothed looking at them but at the same time have this desires to see them clear – I guess that’s the beauty of it. 🙂
Those out of focus paintings are so interesting, but I think they would drive me nuts because I’d always be wondering if I had my contacts in. Lol.
I started wearing glasses when I was 11 but thankfully m power stayed the same until today and the only time I need glasses is when I am driving. Actually I can drive without one but I prefer to wear it. On my side, the weekend was a bust. Little Tyke came down with a stomach flu on Wednesday night, hubby came down on Friday night and today I feel really crappy. Ugh!

Oh man, it’s the worst when the whole family is sick. I hope you all feel better soon!
Same here! I’ve been wearing glasses since first grade. I started wearing contacts in eighth grade. I have to wear one or the other.

These are eerily fascinating and have a dreamlike quality to them. they kind of put me in mind as to how I picture things when I read books and listen to audiobooks. I’ve never been one to imagine the details, but rather just the general shapes and such.
The out of focus paintings really are so fascinating and dreamlike!
