What does it take to make you care about another designer / high street collaboration?
When the designer is a young, adorably hip Frenchman from a storied fashion house with bold, yet timeless jackets, I’m definitely paying attention.
While the campaign is uber popular also because of the models/reality stars fronting the print campaign, I was really attracted to Balmain itself. This is one brand whose jackets I have lusted over for some time. They are powerful, bold, and contain otherworldy embellishment – it’s the assertive military jacket a modern woman to a ball. I’m of course drawn the the highly detailed jackets, but the prices also reflect the level of worksmanship; expect to pay about $500 for the most embellished pieces. I’ve included my favorite picks and product details below.
While the prices are far from typical H&M prices, I’d still think about special pieces like the jackets. What do you think of this collection?

This looks like one of the more expensive collabs that H&M has done but I guess it’s still a fraction of what real Balmain costs. I’ll be skipping this one since the aesthetic isn’t my style at all.

I’m excited about this collaboration, as Balmain is a brand I’ve admired for a while…not to mention H&M is a little bit more in my budget! lol Some of these pieces would look killer with some crystal jewelry from http://ultraviolet.nyc
Balmain is definitely bold, but this collection will go fast. Love that red skirt.
