“The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.”
Audrey Hepburn
What do you consider beautiful in someone else?
Audrey Hepburn is quite clearly beautiful to many of us. She also universally remains a style icon and the epitome of class and elegance. I saw these pictures from a current collection of her pictures: “Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon” which is at the National Portrait Gallery in London through October 18 and was mesmerized from pictures throughout her life.
She knew that beauty is certainly subjective. Perhaps someone’s dimpled smile is his winning feature while another person’s most beautiful feature are her contemplative hazel green eyes. But I love how she told us to forego looking at the usual features and to really look inside someone. Any person (not just a woman!) is more than just her outward appearance, even if it is a beautiful one. Her beauty is also represented by her heart which includes her capacity for compassion and love. Perhaps not all of us are naturally joyful and generous and loving. But we all possess the potential to love and love deeply. Then we all can become beautiful as well.
Have a lovely week!

Audrey Hepburn was truly beautiful inside and out and she was as wise and kind as she was lovely as well. Beauty definitely can be so subjective. My friends think I have weird celebrity crushes cause I find kindness and humor more attractive than dudes who take off their shirts 🙂

Audrey Hepburn was so beautiful, but also very sweet and kind. Definitely a great role model!
Sharon – so true! Audrey Hepburn wasn’t just beautiful, but seemed like a sweet and kind soul too. If only we could all be so beautiful inside and out!
