When was the last time you had fun?
I unexpectedly had a fun time with my family this weekend. We had gone out to meet some friends for coffee. It was getting late but then we noticed that there was a lot of activity in the area. We went out and happily discovered a band adeptly crooning old Sade covers and other 9os hits. There was an air of excitement and holiday cheer. It was such a nice and welcome time to listen to some music, enjoy the company of friends and expose our daughter to the almost electric happiness in the air. We instantly thought “We have to do this again.”
It can be hard to have fun as we get older. I saw this photoshoot and was instantly transported to my childhood when I would take the long journey down to Coney Island during the summer. While it was a long train ride, I liked just taking the train all the way to the end of Brooklyn and swinging on the handle bars of the empty train. I certainly tried to have fun in whatever I did! Now we have responsibilities and have to schedule in time to let loose and have some fun. But we should always seek opportunities to enjoy ourselves today, tomorrow, and always!
