Are you a free spirit?
I can’t say I’m really a free spirit. I’m much more of a planner. I like to have an idea of where I’m going and what I’m doing. But in recent years I’ve discovered that life simply can’t be planned.
I’ve started to let it go. I don’t plan every hour of every vacation. I don’t freak out if unexpected events pop up in my life. I certainly didn’t realize I’d marry the guy I would marry, live in the countries I’ve lived in, and have my priorities redefined by a tiny, little person. Yet here I am, in a different place that I’ve imagined and happy in a different way. People change unexpectedly. Lives leave us as new lives are created. Money is gained and money is lost. We can’t control everything, but we can control our reactions. We can also let go and at least let our spirits be free once in a while.

I have found that as life has gotten busier and busier…I’ve become more of a free spirit with my free time. It’s a refreshing change and my kiddos inspire me to be more spontaneous…which I think is a good trait to require!
Johanna, so true! My little one is still a baby, but she is certainly teaching me to be more spontaneous as well. Kids certainly demonstrate that the best laid plans don’t necessarily hold up when they come first!
