Valentino Fall Couture 2014
Couture season is here and amazing, intricate designer creations are once again floating down the runways. I love to view these collections to see the amazing workmanship as well as the ways it may influence other designs to come. I loved the ethereal, yet bold pieces that came down Valentino’s runway. He had a neutral palette of black, white, emerald, and beige. There weren’t too many intricate pieces, but the shapes were classic and the patterns bold. Here are three very distinct but gorgeous gowns that caught my eye:
This long slinky dress comes complete with subtle cutouts to make it sexy, but still elegant
This intricate city landscape comes to life in this colorful gown
This shape is so edgy, yet the color makes it a more conservative dress (imagine it in white!)
Otherwise this weekend I am…
…doing party prep! A few Asian cultures have a tradition of throwing a party for a newborn before the one year mark (and actually when babies are born, they are considered 1 already!) We were originally going to have a celebration at 1 month, but I was too exhausted and crazed then. Things are mildly better now so I thought it would be a good chance to throw her a 100 day party. My mom and I have already planned out the menu and it will be fun to have our friends over. I’m planning on wrapping and freezing the chicken gyoza this weekend so it will be one less thing I have to do next weekend. We will see how many actually make it to the freezer!
What are you doing this weekend?
Have a fabulous weekend!
Gorgeous gowns! Good luck with your party prepping 🙂
i’ve loved following the couture shows- so beautiful! I am hanging with family and doing some apt cleaning. happy weekend!
I like the idea of a 100 day party! Sounds like it will be a lot of fun, plus the though of homemade chicken gyoza is making my mouth water…
It was an amazing show wasn’t it? I loved it! Thanks for sharing!

Love all the Valentino goodness and your weekend cooking/prep sounds fabulous, I know I wouldn’t make it to the freezer with very many of those little goodies!

Can Valentino do any wrong? I honestly don’t think so. The collections are always so stunning, and this one is no exception. Have fun at the 100 day party!
