Beauty Inspiration: Katie Holmes for Bobbi Brown

Makeup can change everything.

It can convey a person’s moods and really transform how we perceive her.  Take Ms. Joey aka Katie Holmes (come on, you still think of her as Joey too!) in her ads for Bobbi Brown.  I didn’t really look at the campaign pictures too closely until the other day, but when I saw the latest one, I just thought “Wow! What a bold look!”  She is known for her natural, fresh-faced beauty and then boom – she morphs into a sultry vixen with this makeup.

Here are some beauty lessons I learned from her various shoots:

First campaign

– Light smokey eyes are subtle, but striking

Summer campaign

– Chignons will never go out of style and emphasize a clean, elegant makeup look

– A daytime smokey eye can be paired with a rosy neutral color

The latest campaign

– Glamour is easily achieved with a beautiful, rich shade of red lipstick and a great gown.

– Eye makeup can be minimal when you are wearing a bold lipstick color (liner can be enough to set the tone)
