I don’t have to have the season’s latest trends. Â But if a piece speaks to me and seamlessly works its way into my wardrobe – how can I deny it?
Here are my picks for pieces that represented some of this year’s hottest trends:
1. Lace
My love for lace is well documented (why else would one sew an alencon lace veil or buy a 2nd Monique Lhuillier lace wedding gown 3 weeks before her wedding)
Victorian is victorious in today’s lace creations.
Oasis Lace dress, £60
Wearable lace shift via Joie, $318
2. Leopard print apparel
I always thought I was too conservative for leopard print. Â But I find that a touch of leopard can bring just the right raw edginess to an outfit.
Spun by Subtle Leopard zebra scarf, $50
…and shoes
Leopard print with a touch of black makes these Attilio Giusti Leombroni leopard print flats super versatile!
Attilio Giusti Leombroni leopard print flats, $355
3. Minimalist essentials
One day, I will own Celine clothing. Â Until that day, I can still evoke the spirit of Phoebe Philo’s modern and minimalist pieces.
This coat has such clean, modern lines.
This trench dress is super sleek and versatile.
4. Retro dressing
Timeless, womanly apparel is something that I can definitely adopt – flattering fits and full skirts evoke instant ladylike glamour.
This Pink Tartan piece is my ideal dress – fitted with an a-line silhouette and a great print. Â It’s going on the wishlist!
Pink Tartan, $395
What were your favorite trendy pieces of 2010?
I ALWAYS love lace 🙂
The lace dress is very pretty and I just adore the Vince coat – it’s so Chic! Hope you are well and enjoying the holiday season;-)
I love that first dress… so pretty! xo
My wardrobe was so less fun than yours. Clearly I need to do some things in 2011
I love the black lace dress!
I love your style and think we have similar tastes – I would wear every single item that you posted!
okay – so i didn’t quite realize how similar our tastes are until this post! First, I loooove a pretty lace. There’s something so romantic about it! Second, I actually have a leopard print scarf in those colors. Finally, I’m constantly swooning over retro style. (though, i gotta tell you, i’m not in love with the 60’s silhouettes that are showing up… this gal needs a little more shape to her clothing than those mod box-y dresses)
@very married – great minds think alike!
Great picks, I love all these trends and hope they stick around awhile.
I love all of these trends, especially lace and leopard print. Happy New Year!
