If you are ever to visit New York City, do it in the spring (the fall is great too!)
I was lucky enough to be home in NYC recently. I was accompanied by my little family (baby jet lag and a 12 hour time zone change is no joke friends!) and my husband’s aunt who is like a mom to him. We also joined a few of my husband’s other family members who were visiting New York for the first time. So of course we got to play the part of tourists for our stay. It was definitely difficult juggling bringing the baby around town, meeting up with friends/family, and running a few errands (yes, I DID get to Trader Joe’s my last day and brought back some natural peanut butter and their delicious chocolate covered pretzels!) I didn’t get to meet up with all my friends, but hope to do that in August!
I didn’t use my DSLR much but snapped a few photos with my phone (see more photos on Instagram here):
I was VERY lucky to get Shakespeare in the Park tickets and waited 30 seconds to get my tickets. In the past I’ve waited about 2 hours to secure a pair of tickets. Tickets are only distributed on the day of the performance from 12 pm-2 pm. This year, I saw that tickets were being distributed in the non-Manhattan boroughs as well and we decided to go with that option to avoid crowds by Central Park and Cooper Union. I dropped off my husband and his aunt in line at 11:55 am. When I came back to the line at 12:05 pm, I got one of the last pairs of tickets and they already got their tickets! I was sleepy during the performance but can still say Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sam Waterston are great on stage.
We also had a ton of great New York food like Junior’s cheesecake, Katz’s Deli pastrami or corned beef sandwiches, and pizza.
I also met some college friends at the Museum of Natural History with our babies in tow.
We visited the High Line briefly as well since we were on the West Side already one day. My husband and his aunt were already exhausted though so we only walked for a few blocks.
It was also great to see the Apple Store in Grand Central terminal.
Until next time, NYC!
Ahhh…everything sounded just perfect, I love it all :)) Am glad you had such a fun time doll :))) xx
So happy you had a fantastic time, sweetie:) Have a great morning, xoxo
