Swimsuit season is well underway in many parts of the world now. As I try to make more frequent trips to the pool in our complex, I am also thinking about adding a new swimsuit to replace my ever fading favorite green swimsuit. I know that not all swimsuits are created equal and started to think about what swimsuits are best for each body type (I call myself a skinny pear and look best in bikinis). I looked through a few resources for the best swimsuits for each body type and wanted to share my tips for those that are: petite on top, full on top, full on the bottom, or athletic. After all, if you’re wearing a swimsuit, you should feel comfortable in it and look fierce!
By the way, if it’s summer in your area of the world, now may be the best time to shop for a swimsuit since many will be on sale!
What is your body type and what swim suit suits you?
Petite on top
Add some dimension with a fun, ruffled top
Pour Moi Azure, Asos, $41.37
Halters provide good coverage and prints are fun and distract the eye
Underwires have the best support
O Beach Masai Animal ring halter bikini top,ASOS, $13.79
Full on bottom
Direct attention to the top with a deep v-neck and create a long, lean silhouette
An elegant one-shoulder top will ensure your bottom isn’t the focus
Athletic/Straight figure
Try a triangle top
great post full of useful information. love the pictures too.
I’m currently in search for the “perfect” bikini or swim costume.
So difficult to find one that really flatters my figure. lol.

Great tips and finds! I am definitely in the “full on top” category – the best suits for me are halter tankinis, or any kind of halter top.
Love these tips! Happy Tuesday hun xx
All great suits, I like!
Great picks! I’m sad to say that it’s the end of swimsuit season for us here on the East Coast.
Love ALL these suits! I’m going to have to revisit this next year post-baby. God knows what my body is going to do between now and then.
These are fab but is it okay if I’m totally happy bathing suit season is over 😉

Extremely useful tips and at the right time for me! 🙂 Thank you!
These are great tips- I’m a full bra size with a smaller waist and bottom so finding a swim suit takes lots of time for me. I will never wear a swim suit that doesn’t have underwire, its the best support for larger on top.
I am in love with the colorful one piece as well.

I have such an awkward shape – big on the top and small on the bottom so that I can never buy sets. Loved this post, it is really helpful!
i really love that green one, it’s my fave color :):)
thanks for all of the great info. it helps a lot and it’s still swim suit season here for another 3 or so months 🙂
ps like the new look of your blog!!
i’m loving the new layout! also i love the swim suits you put up. my favorite one is the first one and the one with the stars.
honestly its just so hot lately that swimming definitely sounds refreshing at the moment
i like the new blog look.
my fave type of swimsuit is probably a striped vintage inspired monokini.
I rarely go swimming, but these are great picks!
I’d stick with the one piece suits like the striped and animal print ones
