“Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, men cannot live without a spiritual life.”
Buddha
It’s often said that you don’t talk about religion or politics among polite company. Yet, there are aspects of religion everywhere; our currencies often refer to a God and celebrities themselves align with a certain religion. So it’s natural to see religion also referenced in other aspects of culture like style. I thought that the overt editorial on Religion in Vogue May 2018 was really interesting. It makes sense since “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” was this year’s Met Gala theme. It is also currently on display at the Met’s Costume Institute now. Religious influence is seen in the colors and symbols. But what I also find interesting is religion and spirituality.
Spirituality can of course refer to religious beliefs. But everyone is comfortable talking about wellness these days. This includes maintaining a peaceful spirit as well as leading a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I know that I’m still pursuing a content spiritual life. But it can be difficult making time for something like meditation. I’m already stressed out balancing all the other aspects and people in my life. However I keep trying in small ways. I try to remain active even if I’m not going to the gym. I take part in activities like photography that make me happy. In addition, I am trying out meditation, daily walks and other ways to make my spirit more content. So even if you aren’t particular religious, you can still lead a healthy and happy spiritual life.
Have a lovely week!
I do avoid talking about both topics because I found out the hard way that the most decent and polite person can turn nasty within a second when I have a different belief. LOL!

True! It’s funny how people can become so impassioned and sometimes unreasonable when taking about religion or politics!
Oh very cute darling!
Loving these images! And, I enjoyed reading your thoughts as always. Have a great week!
