“Every human is an artist. And this is the main art that we have: the creation of our story.”
Don Miguel Ruiz
What type of art do you like to create? Has art played a large part in your life? I saw this editorial – Playing to the Gallery for US Vogue April 2019 – and reflected on how art has increasingly become part of my life. I didn’t grow up with deep artistic skills. But I certainly have appreciated photography and design more in the last few years. I unfortunately have not taken a deeper dive with photography (I really need to take the time to practice my technical skills), but really would love to continue my learning in that area. I am still fascinated with design and am constantly learning more about architecture and design.
Luckily I am able to occasionally indulge in photo walks where I’ve been able to explore more local architecture and design (see my Instagram for some of my favorite design and travel moments). While I haven’t been as active on this little corner of the internet, I still appreciate it and am happy to learn so much by visiting other people’s blogs too (thank you blog buddies for all the skincare and travel tips!) Photography and random musings have really helped me de-stress and allowed me a creative outlet.
I also think about how some people may pick up technical skills and use that to create a type of art too. My husband isn’t a programmer, but has done some light programming in order to create different reports to tell a story. He is so happy to essentially design pictures from data. He is also a super smart home enthusiast and has engineered different ways to control our lights, air conditioners, and his response for distinct actions (seriously, he basically wrote a script to automatically tell me how many minutes it would take him to reach home upon leaving the office).
So we are all artists in our own ways. We may use different methods and modes of art. But we continually use it to tell our own stories.
Have a lovely week!
It’s a great editorial and I agree, it’s possible to see creativity and art in a lot of places 🙂
Hope you’re having a great start to your week 🙂 It’s a more relaxed week this week after a busy week last week!

This just reminded me that I really want to go vist the MOMA again before it closes for renovations this summer.
