Live life fully while you’re here. Experience everything.
{Carnevale – Port of Spain, New Orleans, Rio de Janeiro – Source}
It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily, but mundane (though necessary) tasks on our checklist…doing the laundry, picking something up from the grocery, replying to someone today instead of tomorrow. Consequently, it can be hard to make time for doing the things we may really want to do – travel, call a friend, or do something spontaneous.
I have a dear friend from graduate school who has returned to his home country of Brazil (he was a housemate when we lived in France). My other housemate and I have dreamed about visiting him in Brazil and wouldn’t Carnevale be a perfect time to go and really experience the colors of Brazil? Last week, we decided we should just plan it and go. There will always be a deterrent but our lives will only get busier and we will create more excuses. So why not take the opportunity now to live life fully?
Have you been to Carnival(ele) and what was the experience like for you?
I also want to send my thoughts to those affected by the natural disasters in Japan. Anything can change in an instant. Blogger buddy Punctuation Mark has a great list of sites where you can donate to disaster relief in Japan, including the Red Cross. Let us help others to live their lives fully as well!
Awesome photos! I’ve always wanted to go to Carnivale, but haven’t had the chance yet!
Yes to live life fully! Funny we just decided to go to Brazil in August! Can’t wait to explore.
Such Happy-Vibrant shots … Lovely thoughts too [That rhymes! :P] I definitely believe in living in present and smiling … making most of whatever you have got! 🙂

You’re so right! When you’re old and looking back at your life, will you be happy that you answered all your emails timely, or will you reminisce about your life’s experiences? This post reminds me that I should really get on planning a trip this year!
I have not been but wow these look fantastic. And nice mention of the devastation in Japan. I don’t even think I comprehended it all until I saw the videos on TV. Unbelievable and great to spread the word about supporting through various organizations.
These photos are so cool, I love the first person’s costume!!

I’ve never been, but always wanted to. Have you read White Oleander by Janet Fitch? She describes Carnival briefly and it sounds exquisite. You dance all day long and never sleep.
