I’m a nerd.

I blame that on my parents who always valued academics and ensured that I studied hard – to them, a good education could secure a good future. I preferred a nice stack of books as much as a cuddly teddy bear when I was growing up (yay for Scholastic Book Club!)  I also always hit the books dutifully so I could attend a good university as well as graduate school.  It was all just part of the nerdy life plan.

This nerd has now also expanded her interests to fashion and design as well now, as evidenced by this blog.  I happily wear a sheath with a jeweled neckline to the office if my laundry is piled high and don’t mind throwing on a long silk skirt to a casual food festival.  I love my dresses, so why not wear them right?

My education and my style are intrinsically part of my identity – the choices I’ve made represent who I am and I display it proudly.  As Mr. Wilde said above, one can never be overdressed or overeducated.  Rock on with your own style (nerdy or not!)
