“It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.â€
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
I must admit that I’m not a very patient person.
When I see a line, I walk away. When my webpage doesn’t load, I keep refreshing the page. When I get it in my mind to do something, I want to do it immediately.
But I have slowly learned patience. Some of my favorite recipes involve long, slow cooking. Some of my favorite places (NYC of course) are exceptionally far. While I don’t enjoy the 24+ hour travel across the globe, I love what awaits me on the other side. I suspect that this is one of the reasons I miss seasons so much as well. Once I have gone through the cold and dark of winter, I more greatly appreciate the warmth and renewal of spring. I have also been seeking a career change for a while; while there have been many starts and stops, I think I have finally found a start up company that I am really excited about and would love to join (cross your fingers for me).
Patience isn’t easy, but it can produce wonderful rewards. Some things are just worth the wait. You may also be rewarded with a beautiful bouquet of roses at the end of that time.
Have a lovely week!
Oh…we can talk about ‘patience’ for days…Especially when it involves finding the right career opportunity. Waiting for the right one, and ditching the not-so-right-ones can be SO challenging. I’m happy you found what you were looking for and of course, I keep the fingers crossed for you! 🙂 Happy Monday!

Adore these pictures, love love flowers :))) I have patience, my husband does not, haha!! Sometimes it irritates him that I can be patient when he cannot. Though, sometimes his impatience rubs off on me and my patience rubs off on him, haha. Just depends on the situation, but for the majority of time, he’s impatient and I’m patient. I think you either have to be or learn to be in this world…we’ve learned to want things as soon as…but I think learning patience can help life go much easier at times!! It’s just not always so easy, haha 🙂 Have a gorgeous week doll x
I think I can be very patient with certain things and otherwise completely not. All the best for the new exciting venture, hope it works out well. Beautiful editorial. May your week get off to a great start!
I suffer from the same thing, but have gotten better over the years! LOL I guess it depends on what I’m waiting for and how much it’s worth to me. HAHAHA I hope you had a great time in NYC. Beautiful post! Love those roses and designs. Have a great week.
I totally agree and hope things work out for you with the startup company! Being patient is a challenge for me, too.
Patience is something I seem to always seem to be working on and I agree that the rewards can sometimes be very gratifying.

Val, you’re right – learning to be patient does require a lot of patience! Thank you so much for your sweet vibes dear! I guess I’ll see soon if this is the right career step!
Very mod, I like!
I can’t really say if I’m a patient person. I mean, there are some things I have patience for, and others where I have none at all. I have no patience for winter. I want it to be spring already, for the days to stop getting shorter and colder.
I hope you get your new job, and that it turns out to be just what you needed and patiently waited for!
Lydia, thank you so much for your kind words. I guess I will see quite quickly whether this new job will be the right step or not. I am similarly impatient with winter – I wish it could be really short and just around the holidays and be quickly followed by spring!
So lovely!
