“I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.â€
― Robert Louis Stevenson, Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes
Where have you lived? Do you live in a different place from where you were born?
As you may know, I am a proud New Yorker, but have moved quite a bit in the last few years and have been in Southeast Asia for a few years. I live in a pretty cool place (well not temperature wise, it is always humid here!), but get a pretty frequent urge to travel because it is also a relatively small place. While my last trips were a few, short work related trips to Kuala Lumpur (mmm nasi lemak!), I have been busy planning my next trips for the year and dreaming about where our little family can vacation in the summer and fall. Finland and Sweden are in the cards since we have a wedding to attend there and I’m excited to explore this region. But I am also hoping to explore Asia as well. My husband still hasn’t been to Japan so that is a possibility. Succulent sushi, steaming bowls of ramen, and little morsels of kochi may be calling my name!
I just feel like I need to move around and travel to really feel fulfilled. I guess I frequently feel that urge to get up and go!
What about you?
Have a lovely week!
Mr Stevenson had clearly never flown Ryanair 😉
I love to travel too but for me, the exciting bit is the destination and exploring new environments.
Haha, but is Ryanair better than Easyjet? I agree – the exciting but is about exploring a new place! have a good week Emma!
Love that last picture, so stunning!! I feel the same doll, I have been feeling like this a lot lately. I don’t feel like I’ve done enough unless I’ve been travelling or at least going somewhere I’ve not gone before. The winter made it impossible to go anywhere,s o I am itching to travel. Will hopefully do so soon :))) I hope you have a great week ahead xx
Kizzy, I definitely relate with what you said! I don’t feel like I’ve done enough unless I’ve traveled somewhere or really had the chance to go to a new place and experience the culture, food, and environment! I hope you get to travel soon!
You know that I am like you with regards to wanting to move and explore! I just want to experience more of life…
I have spent any time in Japan either and definitely have it on my Asia list…. 🙂
We’re a few fellow explorers right Alexis? I’m hoping to go to at least Tokyo in October – there’s a public holiday at the end of the month and you guys should consider it too!
You are so blessed to have visited so many places! If I had the bank account, I would travel the world. Everyone should do so. You can learn so much. I was born in Louisiana, but we lived several years in Florida (that’s where my father was from). I’ve only been within the States: Ohio, Illinois (Chicago), Washington DC, Nevada, Florida (Tallahassee, Miami), Mississippi, Virginia, South Carolina. I definitely would like to travel more. These designs are absolutely gorgeous. Wishing you an amazing week.

Kim, I really am fortunate to have gone to so many places. It does get really pricey but it is something that we save for and is worth the splurge for us. You have lived and visited so many places! I know that you’ll be traveling some time. You are free to visit here any time and I’ll show you around this side of the world (or NYC!)
I have always lived in the same place, and the longer I stay here, the harder the idea of leaving becomes. Traveling is wonderful, but I am quite attached to this home.
I also have moved quite a bit over the past 20 years and I am always up for a new adventure. Btw: that second dress is something special:) Have a great day, sweetie. xo
I love travel, but I also happen to love new york, we moved from their to Los Angeles a little over a year ago, and I still miss it.
I miss NYC too, but LA is such a fun place. There are so many great restaurants in LA, though it is such a different lifestyle from NY! One can’t complain about the weather in LA either!
I’ve only lived in NYC and I honestly can’t imagine living anywhere else though I must say the idea intrigues me. I know what you mean about traveling to feel fulfilled. Unfortunately my health has kept me from traveling lately and I’m really hoping to change that this year.
It’s going to be almost 60 in NYC tomorrow. Can’t wait 🙂
Have a splendid week my dear!

Thanks for stopping by! I’m a New Yorker and will always love the place but lived in France for a bit so Paris will always have a place in my heart. You have a good idea as well – sushi often would be great! Have a lovely week!
Wow you travelled to KL too? (: hehe I live in Southeast Asia too and I kind of travel from place to place occasionally but haven’t yet venture into European country! Maybe I’ll try to do it in the future(: x

Hi Birdie, thanks for stopping by! Yes I went to KL a few times for work, but they were very short visits! I hope you get to travel and get to Europe in the future too. Have a lovely week!
Too funny! Just today I was thinking how it would be lovely to travel to Japan with the kiddos! I was looking at pics from a fellow military wife (on IG) who is stationed there with her husband. It seems like there is so much to explore there…
I know what you mean. I love going to new places and trying new things. Who wants to look back on their life and have never gone anywhere? I recently went to Hawaii, but am dreaming of my next trip already (hopefully to somewhere warm!)
This lookbook is too gorgeous – I want it all!!
xx
gorgeous photos! I’m so excited for summer!!
Wow that zebra suit strikes a high fashion note, amazing look! Your upcoming travel trips sound lovely. Destination wedding must be amazing, Ive never been to one before. I was unable to comment on your newest post but wanted to say that I think I need to get myself a primer asap. It was great hearing your opinion on my last post.
I love this color palette with the bold colors..While I love pastels…it’s nice to see bright reds and yellows! Pretty pretty!
i just tried to comment on the smashbox post and no comment form came up. didn’t know if you turned it off for that post or if it’s a glitch
Thanks for letting me know Elle! There is some glitch on comments in the Smashbox post and I can’t figure out why! Have you tried the primer? Is it worth the money to you?
Beautiful photos!
