A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.

Beginnings can be a bit intimidating. I look at the gorgeous pictures of these dancers from the opening ceremony of the Asian Games and think they must have been a little nervous the first time they performed in front of thousands of people. Perhaps their first experiences even dancing were tough. Dancers and performers aren’t the only ones that have to make new decisions – we constantly make choices that force us to question whether we want to make a new beginning. Should we pursue a new job, move to a different city, get that degree, or even start a blog (whew and it was yes to all of that for me!)?
But it all begins with that first step. It may or may not be exactly what you seek, but at least you tried. You can always choose another path and that initial step could be the beginning of something glorious.
Don’t be afraid of the first step and all that you can accomplish.
Have a lovely week!

Well said! Congrats to you and your accomplishments. And you’re totally right – nothing ventured, nothing gained, and you can always change your direction. Happy Monday!
So true! Often when I think of all I have and want to do I get totally overwhelmed but when you realise everything starts with the first step I think that makes things easier.
Love the first picture! And thanks for the inspiration. I plan to take a lot of first steps coming 2011 🙂
What amazing images…I recently watched a documentary about all the hard work and months of planning that goes into those ceremonies!
