An inordinate passion for pleasure is the secret to remaining young
Oscar Wilde
I’m comfortable with my age. Â I love being married, having a home to decorate, taking on increased responsibility at work, and thinking about how I will make a life for my future family. But with age, comes more accountability. Â Housing prices, credit card payments, and home maintenance have also filled my thoughts. Â Is it possible that you don’t have as much fun as you become older?
Sometimes, it is good to step back and think about the world through a child’s eyes. Â
Enjoy the small things. Â
Become fascinated with the flowers you pass by every day. Â
Remember to giggle. Â A lot.
Have an appreciation and pleasure for the things that surround you and remain young at heart.
Have a lovely week!
The first image reminds me of happy times in the West indies. I’m always fascinated with life and the beauty that surrounds me. Have a nice Monday.
Love this post. Definitely food for thought.. You really need to take time from everyday stresses to really appreciate things!! I forget that so often!!
I am having a moment feeling as it my “age has caught up with me”. Just today I told the Chef I feel as though my fun years are over. This is a post I needed to see. Thanks for sharing.

Beyond adorable. I agree- it’s so easy to get caught up in the chaos of every day life : )
You are so right! Way too often do we get caught up in everyday life we forget to enjoy the simple things
Oh! What a wonderful post. I am going to ponder over a little more in the afternoon. The #2 pic is just toooo cute! 🙂

so cute but that second one is AMAZING!
These photos are so cute! I totally agree that we all need to take time to look at the word through childlike eyes! It makes the little things in life so much more enjoyable!
Adorable photos! I love my age too, but life was definitely simpler back then. Good thing I love to laugh and never take myself too seriously. It helps!
oh to be a kid again!
oh to be kid again!!!!!!! be foot loose and fancy free
love the first shot!! speaks of pure innocence!!!
This is so sweet and such great advice! It’s always great to act like a kid every once in awhile to stay young at heart!
Great post – sometimes life gets overwhelming. I agree it is important to take a minute and step back from everything 🙂
Thanks so much for your comment!
And yes, I do make my own clothing sometimes.
Much love,

Love the quote, and the pictures are adorable!
Beautiful post doll!! I think it’s true- we should appreciate everything and laugh more because having a good sense of humor is good and healthy!
Sometimes I feel that with me being older now, I’m not as fun as I use to, but then I realize it isn’t true because as you get older your preferences simply change, and it’s ok. 🙂

I think you can still have fun with age, you just have to be intentional about making it happen! Don’t let the big stuff get you down, take breaks from ‘reality’ as it were and do something spontaneous or something fun like going on a picnic or for a ride in the country! 🙂
Ah to be young again. It was so much easier then, right? Although I do love my life and I’m not complaining but it’s nice to sit back and remember those times.
I love that Oscar Wilde quote and the pix are amazing 🙂 xoxo
I love that second pic, her eyes are huge!
Those kids are absolutely adorable! So precious!
Great and thoughtful post!
I so agree with you!
Aww, such sweet photos, and I think you are right, it’s good to remember how much joy we would get out of the simplest of things.
Chic on the Cheap
This is a lovely post with such a beautiful message. 🙂
Love this post. I told the hubs sometimes I miss the days when playing with your friends was the only thing you had to do…no worries or responsibilities. Sometimes it’s always nice to revert back to your childhood and just have fun!
Aww..that second image melted my heart! Its so sweet! I totally agree..As much as I love being an adult I miss all the giggles and fun of childhood. Have a great day, sunshine
Kisses
Ps: I’m hosting a cute scarf GIVEAWAY today! Just in time for summer!
what lovely images!
and there are so many responsibilities that come along with being an adult. i still think i like being an adult better than being a kid. but, it would be good to mix the best of each and get the most out of life! 😉
Great post! I feel like life gets in the way of fun as you get older! It’s great to be reminded to slow down and have a bit of fun once in a while!
I agree..lovely post! Being into arts and keeping an open mind does wonders for that youthful feeling.

i can’t wait to have kids so i can dress them up in outfits from the last picture 🙂
So true. It is sometimes easily forgotten but we do need to take time off and have some fun. : ) xo
So sweet…and yes I totally agree – we should all look at life through a child’s eyes every once in a while…thanks for the reminder!!
these photos are amazing!
Love this. So true and made me really think. Thank you 🙂
Oh I just love that first photo – how incredibly charming. Sometimes it’s hard to walk to line between the two!!
Sometimes, I think that I’m too much of a little kid, but I realized that everyone else at school is just in a rush to grow up too fast! ^^
So inspiring! That first picture is too cute.
i love this post. i absolutely feel like as i was getting older that i wasn’t having as much fun. now that i have my child i sort of appreciate my life much more and i find that i am still having fun and i don’t have to be super young to enjoy anything i want to 🙂
There are so much shining in their smiles. How joyful life is! I hope I can smile like them.:)
P/S Their dresses are amazingly cute. I am jealous of them. 🙂
love these photos, especially the one in black and white!
Very sound advice. My daughter has not only kept me young but taught me the beauty of stopping and taking in all the over looked details in life.
i love my age and still feel young. totally think we can feel young forever 🙂
