“I’m always in favor of more glamour. I embarrass my children, I think. I am the lady in feathers in the car pool line.”
Mia Sara
Glamour Italy January 2016
Would you opt for more glamour or less glamour?
I’d rather dress up, even if means dressing up means putting on a statement piece of jewelry or fun shoes (sad cry because my broken toe is still recovering and I can’t wear any pretty shoes at the moment!)
I’m not saying that I wear evening gowns every day, though I am lucky enough to be surrounded by many beautiful dresses at work. But I appreciate and have a fondness for glamour. I actually don’t get it when women opt for yoga pants and workout gear to feel comfortable. I feel great when I am wearing a lovely shift dress and feel like I can move just as well as if I was wearing something more loose fitting. I also like throwing on a jeweled hairband or crystal pins to elevate my look and feel glamorous.
As this NY Times article pointed out, I actually put on a beautiful accessory or dress so that I can feel more polished, refined, and confident in my look than I would in a hoodie and sweatpants. So although I made the excuse of “Buying it for my daughter”, I’ll fully admit that I love buying sparkly accessories for myself just to wear on an everyday basis. New Year’s Eve is a perfect time to dig out a favorite cocktail dress and those extra sparkly shoes and earrings. I’ll be traveling this New Year’s Eve and attending some family functions, but I’ll be sure to pack a little crystal hair accessory – perhaps my Jennifer Behr star bobby pins or delicate crystal head wrap.
So this New Year’s Eve, I wish you more glamour friends!
Have a lovely week!

That Mia Sara quote is just brilliant! I actually love glamour, and I think that there’s a way to incorporate it into everything you do and wear!

This woman is a stunner. I love every single dress…naturally I love dressing up!
Oh, I love that quote about the feathers and the carpool lane. I tend to be the most dressed up person in my group of friends. But for the most part, I’m pretty casual, except for big nights like NYE. Will probably be the most overdressed person at my party there, too.
I’m with you! I love more glamour. I didn’t know you broke your toe! Oh my goodness! Sending healing wishes your way.
