I’ve been thinking about self-expression a bit lately, perhaps because I have encountered quite a few people who unfortunately weren’t given the opportunity to pursue their interests and passions; in many cases, they have just given in and become the version of themselves that was expected of them. I think I certainly became that person for quite a while. But now that I’m in a different location across the globe and discovered this wonderful world of blogging, I’m in an interesting new phase of discovery and looking for the things that really excite me and exhibit my personality. These forms of self expression may be as small and simple as the new studded belt I wear over tunics or the dusty fit flops sandals that demonstrates my fondness for walking everywhere instead of taking a cab.
So paint on the walls, laugh out loud, and be as much of a rebel as you want to be.
Just express yourself!
Have a fabulous week lovelies!

I agree with you! Self expression is very important to me too … and some how blogging is helped me with it A LOT! 🙂
Haha, love the photo of the child laughing! I think I have that one down myself 🙂 Great, inspirational post. I’m glad you are taking this opportunity in a new country to be who you really are. Great advice for us all.
Oh, the lovely and amazing things blogging and change of scenery can do! Such truth in these words, and I love that quote too. 🙂 Hope yours is an absolutely fab week too!
You’re awesome!
Lovely post! Where would we be without our creativity?
Ooh, I so adore that first picture – perfection! I would never survive without creativity!! 🙂
That is right. What are we if we can’t be ourselves. : )
@Erika I thought the same thing – Al Hirschfeld sketches on my wall would be perfect!
@Savvy Gal – exactly, be yourself!
B&&W!<3 lovely stuff
Love these photos – James Dean was such an icon!
I think it generally takes time for people to have the courage to be true to themselves and really discover who they are. In school, everyone tends to still follow another person. I think starting in your 20s, most people realize what they really want to do and how to truly express themselves.
Yes, let´s express ourselves. The blog world is the new freedom of speech!!!
Have a fab day!
I have carefully read your post and you’re absolutely right. The best thing in our lives should be authentic and be comfortable with ourselves.
I´m your new follower
Best wishes from Spain!
