“Every time I stand before a beautiful beach, its waves seem to whisper to me:
If you choose the simple things and find joy in nature’s simple treasures,
life and living need not be so hard.”
― Psyche Roxas-Mendoza
So I have to admit – I’m not a beach person.
But my husband most definitely is a lover of sand and surf. He enjoys simply being by the water, relaxing with a good book, and being in a more tranquil state of mind. I can certainly get behind all of that and this editorial from Elle España, March 2016 reminded me of how a beach vacation can also be a great vacation. I’m just usually more of a “see all the sites” kinda traveler.
But I also saw this quote and was reminded of how nice it can be to enjoy the simple things. We are going to Phuket for a long weekend – it is a treat for my husband as he begins something new. He is so excited to share one of his favorite beaches with our little one. At first, we thought of visiting other islands, like James Bond Island (we really enjoyed our boat trip last time). Instead, we’re going to keep it simple. We’ll relax on the beach, introduce the little one to some Thai food (maybe even street food!), and just enjoy the view. We’ll have a simpler vacation and really enjoy time spent together and the chance to visit a beautiful city. It should be fun!
Have a lovely week!
