Your future is only as bright as your mind is open
Rich Wilkins
It can be easy to envision a bright future when you are in a bright environment, like the beautiful, tropical background in this  “Carmen Miranda Reloaded” editorial.  But if you are within the gray, frigid days of winter, it can be hard to remain positive and your mood may reflect the shorter, darker days.
I have a good friend who moved to Europe after meeting her husband and has had a difficult time adjusting to life there. Â She is an intelligent and kind individual with a master’s degree and great professional experience, but has been unable to restart her career there for some time. Â Naturally, she has become frustrated with her situation and long job search. Â While she is in a beautiful area ringed with picturesque snow capped towns, she finds it hard to see the future beyond those white rooftops. Â I spoke to her recently and tried to encourage her to keep going and to keep her spirits up. Â The road to a destination (the destination for my friend and perhaps a few of us being a good, meaningful job) may be difficult, long, and surrounded by a seemingly gray vista. Â But you must keep searching for the way. Â Sometimes life is simply all about timing and the people you meet along the way. Â If you keep on going, you may discover clearer and easier paths on the road and destinations that may not have been previously foreseen.
Keep going. Keep hoping. Â Look towards that bright horizon in your future.
Have a lovely week!
These are fab – so colourful and vibrant! Especially love the seccond image xo
Wonderful photos and I loved what you said at the bottom. I had the same thing happen when I moved to the UK from America. I couldn’t use my degree and I couldn’t get a job for a while either, it was a little disheartening, but at the end of it, it led me to create a job for myself and actually do what I love to do more, so I’m happy 🙂 x
Thank you for the encouraging words! I hope my friend finds a job she loves too!
I can definitely side with your friend. For so long I was stuck in a job I didn’t enjoy and couldn’t see any growth. It took a long time to transition and you are right, you have to keep going forward.
great advice! – she is lucky to have a friend like you to keep her spirits high and keep on marching on!
So colorful and vibrant. Truly brings the spirit of Brazil alive! (:

Beautiful photos! Sending good wishes to your friend that she finds what she is meant to do in her new surroundings. I’m learning that even when you have a good and fulfilling job, there are still trying days that make you wonder if your path is the right one!
Thanks for the well wishes dear! I am at a career crossroads too and am wondering if I will choose the right path – we will see! It is always good to hear that your job is fulfilling, even if the hours are sometimes crazy!

ohhh these photos are so amazing!! i love love all the bright floral colors for spring!!!! 🙂 that basket weave bandage dress is INSANE!
i know what you mean i love chanel but i don’t think i’ll be buying anymore unless there’s something seriously amazing.. but i haven’t seen anything amazing from them in a long long time already. i always thought i would make the leap to H someday but now the more that i think about it the more i can’t do it hahaha. it’s too much and i’d rather travel or buy a place hehehe.
My, what a gorgeous spread, the prints and colours are extraordinary! Yes, it’s always difficult to adjust to unknown territory especially for job searching, but having done it myself tell your friend to hang in there with time she’ll find something. xx/Madison
Job search is definitely a draining thing to do… I wish her all the best and motivation to keep on moving forward!
gorgeous photos!

i totally understand that – in the dark cold winter, it seems like nothing is possible.
hope your friend finds a way to break out of that mentality.
love these bright bold images!
The colors in the dresses go so well with the backdrops. I want to wear them all!
I saw this editorial earlier today and though about how wonderful the colours were and it felt so tribal and many of the looks reminded me of the cultural dresses worn here in Safrica. Its very difficult to see the forest through the trees but your positivity and encouragement is really uplifting.
Love the bright colors and mix of prints!
Your post made me cry. Your words really touched me. That’s so true! GOD always tells us to keep moving forward. No matter how long the road. Everyone’s situation is subject to change. I love this photoshoot. The colors and prints in it are so beautiful.
You are too sweet Kim! Yes the road can be so long and frankly depressing. I really, really hope things change for the better soon but I really don’t know. I got your note and will reply soon! At least this editorial made me happy!
what a great quote. i must agree!
