“You are never too old to become younger.”
Mae West
Do you sometimes feel your age (or older)?
We saw a few friends for another friend’s post-elopement dinner (it was fun, see a photo on my Instagram as well!) Some of these friends were joking about “getting old” because they had stayed at home for the past two Fridays watching movies at home. We countered that we do that often so we must be quite old! We love to unwind on a Friday night by turning up Hulu and catching up on “The Mindy Project” (you can thank me later, but the show is ridiculous and the fashion is so fun!)
At the same time, it’s funny because I also stayed out for 3 nights in a row last weekend and partied with friends (albeit for work.) It made me feel younger to just hang out, dance a little and have ice cream at midnight. I saw these vintage photographs taken by Nina Leen for Life Magazine of Barnum & Bailey circus girls in 1949 and it got me thinking about youth. These ladies are caught in such light and carefree poses. While their dress and poses certainly reflect their environment and time period, their looks and attitudes are timeless. They are just young women having fun and on an adventure with their chosen jobs as circus performers. It reminded me that even though I may age, I don’t always have to feel older. Becoming younger is then a state of mind and a willingness to do something I may not have done in a while. Most importantly, it is about having fun! With that, remember that you are never too old to become young!
Have a lovely week!
I love these vintage black and white shots. Oh, and I used to watch the Mindy Project but then just stopped one day. Gotta get back into it.
I feel like I could be a granny sometimes based on some of the things I like and enjoy but sometimes I feel much younger as well. I do love it when I meet millennials and they think I’m one of them.

I feel old constantly but my kids keep me young…or so I like to think!
