“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.”
― William Shakespeare

Do you believe in destiny?
I’m not sure if I believe in destiny. I think it’s an interesting concept that some people are convinced that a path was set out for them. But I’d like to believe that we have control over our futures. I was first directed to this amazing editorial of Misty Copeland for Harper’s Bazaar February 2016 by blogger buddy Happy Pretty Sweet. Misty details a little about how she got started in ballet. She started practicing ballet relatively late, but once she started dancing, she knew it was what she was meant to do. She is now a pioneer in the premiere ballet circles and a paradigm of strength, diligence, and natural grace.
So was it her destiny to become a prima ballerina? I certainly think that some people are given talents in certain areas and they will excel in that practice and field. But then, it becomes about luck, timing, and practice, practice, practice. Destiny is something that we can and should control. Now I’m just trying to control my destiny for my next big move too.
Have a lovely week!
These are beautiful!! I think I believe in destiny, I think things are already written down for us, it’s just that sometimes we get thrown off the path or the time passes and is lost and a new path is made. It can be a tricky one. But, I know there are things in my life that were meant to be there! Happy Monday doll x
Her strength and grace are absolutely amazing! I love this editorial.
