We all love cold popsicles, dips in the pool, and long days during summer.
But no one loves the after effects of a scorching hot day at the beach – sunburn. I am somewhat fair and unfortunately am prone to getting those hot, unsightly patches of reddened, sun exposed skin. I’m thinking about paying more visits to the pool and am definitely liberally applying sunblock. But if I still get some lobster like sunburn spots, I’m glad to have found an easy solution to soothing that red skin. This is another easy and natural beauty DIY that will definitely cool me down after a hot summer day!
DIY Yogurt sunburn healing mask

1. Mix together yogurt and coconut oil.
2. Apply to affected areas and leave on for 15 minutes.
3. Rinse off and dry. Repeat as necessary.
Benefit Rundown
- Yogurt promotes faster healing and restores the pH balance of skin
- Vitamin E in coconut oil nourishes the skin with its antioxidant and moisturizing properties
- Coconut oil acts as an emollient and can be easily absorbed in the epidermis
This is really great. I’ve never had many sunburns thankfully. But, I read about using this as a child and tried, my mum thought I was crazy, but it did feel really nice and soothing. I hope you are well doll 🙂 xx
This is such a good tip and I had a sunburn a couple weeks ago and my mom had Noxema. 🙂 I love that this is natural thought and I love any product that makes skin smoother! Thanks for sharing – just tweeted to Savvy Sleepers followers. 🙂
PS I want those sunglasses. :))

I use yohgurt as a mask sometimes so I can see why it would be effective for sunburn relief. I’m definitely doing my best to avoid sunburn in the first place these days 🙂
