“A city is not gauged by its length and width, but by the broadness of its vision and the height of its dreams.”
Herb Caen
What is your favorite city? I saw this editorial of Liu Wen for Harper’s Bazaar China August 2018 and thought about rooftops in the summer in Manhattan. I’ve always been a city girl who is used to and more comfortable with the ambient noise, intangible energy, and boisterous crowds associated with big cities. One of the things I like about living in a city is the fact that it’s simply a larger place with more people (crowded into smaller places unfortunately!) and more to do. People move to cities for more opportunities. You can hopefully find a new career or start a new company of your own. Perhaps you will meet another resident with similar values and goals. As a result, it seems like there are so many possibilities available in big cities.
I feel like I’m finally taking advantage of being a city resident again. We are trying out new places and seeing more cultural sites around the city. I’m also meeting more people and exploring the opportunities around me. I’m excited to see what happens next. Remember to make the most of where you live!
Have a lovely week!
I love this editorial. When I think of Paris I think of more minimalism and simple. But this styling is just perfection and the glam factor oh so fitting for Paris.

I never look this good when I take rooftop photos, lol. Nice that you’re enjoying living in a big city — definitely lots to see and do.
