When was the last time you had afternoon tea?

I treated myself to the Intercontinental Singapore Lobby Lounge Afternoon tea last week.  I convinced a lovely friend to have high tea simply because “we’re awesome”.  She readily agreed because we are indeed awesome and need a treat sometimes.   I read up on the Intercontinental Singapore Lobby Lounge Afternoon tea and also had a handy discount so we had to go.  We had a nice, long chat over freshly brewed tea and sweet and savory treats in a beautiful setting.  It was a little decadent, but once in a while a little decadence is needed!

The prawn tarts were my favorite savory snack while the raspberry macaron sandwich with a lychee was a light, sweet treat.  The other standout treat was the financier with a not so subtle hint of orange.

But it wasn’t just about the food and drinks (a refreshing tea cocktail was also served at the beginning).  As you know, I’m a designer lover and I adored the plentiful chandeliers and the luxurious touches.  The setting really makes a difference and the beautiful touches and bright, quiet atmosphere were certainly welcome.

The cakes and plentiful hydrangeas were a welcoming and beautiful sight.

They also have a fun “Not an Afternoon Tea” set which includes coffee paired with treats like tiramisu and coffee walnut rolls!  I may have to try that next time (zoom in the picture for the menu)!

The food looks lovely as does the setting. Afternoon tea always makes me feel like I’m fancy which I’m not at all LOL

Haha, I’m not fancy either (only sometimes 😉 )

I couldn’t tell you that last time I had a tea time, but I would certainly have afternoon tea more often if it looked as cute as this!
