Fashion Highlight
The Gucci show is always one to watch during Milan Fashion Week and this season’s Spring Summer 2015 collection did not disappoint. The 1970s were on full display with modern, fitted silhouettes in earthy neutral tones. Groovy multi-colored floral inspired patterns adorned other pieces. Color blocking was still a strong element and added new life to a familiar denim dress. But my favorite looks were in outerwear. I’ve admired Gucci jackets for the last few years for their beautiful shapes with strategically placed buttons and pockets – the look screams mod and feels timelessly edgy. I found a few Gucci looks that inspired looks that could be worn now.
– Red trench coats for a pop of color
MICHAEL Michael Kors Trench Coat with Detachable Hood, Nordstrom, $139.90 (from $210)
– little white dresses are a wardrobe must for the warmer months
Marc by Marc Jacobs Demi Jacquard Dress, Saks Fifth Avenue, $119.20 (from $298)
– colorblocking wakes up a standard denim dress
Colorblock western shirtdress, GAP, $69.95
Otherwise this weekend I am…
…meeting a few other parent/married friends for dinner. This may seem minor, but is pretty exciting for us since we haven’t met other friends in a while. Talk may be centered around baby poop, but I accept this funny/traumatizing subject at this phase in my life. It will be great to have spicy Thai food and just sit back and laugh.
What are you doing this weekend?
Have a fabulous weekend!
Ohh love the red trench! So nice to brighten up a classic piece.
