Happy Fun, Free Friday lovelies!
Art Highlight
I love art in public places.
For instance, the train stop for the Natural History museum in New York City has a gritty feel, but also has flashes of fun and fanciful art on the walls. Ithas great tile in the shape of famous sites at the museum, like the giant blue whale and various animals.
Subway art is especially cool when it reflects art from another time or is simply striking. The design in the Moscow train system is stu “svet” (light) and “sveltloe budushchee” (a bright future). David Burdeny was the first photographer invited to capture the designs in the Russian train system and took a series of photos he called “Russia, A Bright Future”. The brightness and uplifting feeling of the stations are pretty spectacular when you really stop to appreciate it.

Otherwise this weekend I am…
…super busy as usual. I’m also super tired from a big project this week and have neglected everything else. But Saturday is packed with my daughter’s activities and Sunday we will be taking my daughter to a study of language comprehension by infants (which sounds really interesting!) and I’ll be attending a baby shower. I’m also attending a charity masquerade ball tomorrow night. So free time will be pretty scarce. But I’ll certainly try to have fun and get some much needed rest.
What are you doing this weekend?
Have a fabulous weekend!
