Woman Card

I don’t want to get into politics, but I, like most other females, wouldn’t love to be accused of pulling “the woman card” just for being a woman.  That’s why I liked this cool project, the Woman Card.  This deck of cards has contributions from several different illustrators that promote gender equality.  A woman’s achievements are highlighted because they are truly remarkable – not simply because she is a woman.  I didn’t realize Uzo Aduba (aka “Crazy Eyes”) won both a drama and comedic Emmy for the same role – it’s never happened before!  I love the mix of women featured here from Mindy Kaling to Evita Peron.

Otherwise this weekend I am…

…celebrating Father’s Day!  I almost forgot about it because it’s been pretty busy.  But I definitely want to take time out and celebrate my husband.  He is a devoted, loving, and fun dad and always likes a reason to celebrate.  He is already happy because he knows that we are having rib eye that night (his favorite!) though he insists on cooking it himself.  We’ll supplement with some creamed spinach and wine mushrooms – it should be a delicious celebration!
