Louise Dahl-Wolfe Original Fashion Photographer
The legendary fashion photographer Louise Dahl-Wolfe was one of the first to capture iconic Hollywood beauties in natural light. Influencing Richard Avedon and Irving Penn, she photographed the likes of Gloria Vanderbilt, Lauren Bacall, and Mae West in places like South America, Europe, and Africa.
The book Louise Dahl-Wolfe, out April 26 from Aperture, celebrates a prolific portfolio spanning nearly four decades. For 22 years, Dahl-Wolfe worked closely with Diana Vreeland and Carmel Snow of Harper’s Bazaarto make a magazine for “well-dressed women with well-dressed minds” photographing society women in feather jackets, artists in their studios, and elegant models along the Seine. Otherwise this weekend I am…
…enjoying a quiet weekend in San Francisco. I’ve read about a few good brunch places including Dottie’s True Blue Cafe so we may partake in a hearty plate or two of chorizo scrambles. We may also check out the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market again and see what goodies they have to offer. I’ve read some fabulous things about the Farmer’s Wife sandwiches so maybe we will stop by and try some out!
What are you doing this weekend?
Have a fabulous weekend!

Enjoy Your time in SF. Farmer’s markets are my favourite. This will be a relaxing weekend for me, so perhaps some autumn window shopping and a good brunch. X/MADISON
FASHION TALES
I love these pictures, so pure and without the heavy filters that we see these days. Not much going on for us this weekend but we are having a BBQ on Sunday!
