Happy Fun, Free Friday lovelies!
Chanel Metiers d’Art 2018 show
I grew up going to the Met linking it with ancient mummies and grand works of art. So I love rediscovering it in a sartorial sense and seeing brands like Chanel host their shows there. The Chanel Metiers d’Art 2018 show seemed to pay homage to famous museum sites as well with its heavy Egyptian references. Chanel’s signature knits became a bit more fluid with floor skimming linen underskirts. The shapes were a bit more sleeker and really interesting. There were casual pieces as well ranging from golden pants to denim pieces (hmm a bit random) with just a nod to the ancient culture.
Otherwise, this weekend I am…
…involving the kids in their first charity event. My husband I have said that we wanted the kids to learn to be more generous and empathetic. This is especially important during the holiday season since I don’t like the heavy commercial aspect. I’m involved with a group that donates money and personal products to elderly, low-income individuals (many who don’t have family support which is significant, especially in Asia). We are bringing the elderly folks for a day out by the gardens and will also distribute gifts to them. I’m going to bring the kids to infuse a little youth, chaos, and smiles as well. I hope everyone has fun!
What are you up to this weekend?
Have a lovely weekend!
