Web Reading
As many of you know now, good ‘ol Google Reader is going away in July. This is definitely unfortunate because I certainly rely on it for keeping up with hundreds of websites and blogs quickly and efficiently. I’m currently in the process of reviewing a few alternatives and first posted my alternatives on Facebook (join along here!) but have also added another option:
- Feedly – for Safari
- Flipboard – for Apple devices
- The Old Reader
- Newsify – for Apple devices
- Newsbar – for Mac OS
There is certainly a skew towards Apple devices or the Apple OS but I am also evaluating the Old Reader as well so I’ll let you know how that goes.
Now is also a great time to go through your readers to weed out blogs that may not be active anymore or whose interests may not align with your own now.
In the meantime, I am currently adding friends and blogs that are registered on Bloglovin. I am on Bloglovin here so you can add me there to keep up with the latest fashion, design, travel, and food updates. Let me know your Bloglovin links as well so I can keep up with your blog.

Otherwise this weekend I am…
…welcoming my old college housemate for a few weeks. During my senior year, I lived with her, a good friend from high school, and my then boyfriend in a big house at the edge of college town. We had some crazy times in that old house. Ahh it seems like it was a million years ago! She is in the region for a seminar so I invited her to use our place as a hub to travel to different countries. She is still deciding what countries to hit, but I know she’ll have fun.

Kim, oh cool! I really like the Google Reader interface because I was able to read a lot more quickly. I’ll let you know how my evaluation of Old Reader goes!

I’ve also been evaluating some of the other feed readers as weel and utilizing Bloglovin’ more as well. Already have you added 🙂

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMG WHAT? no wonder i’ve been getting all sorts of requests on bloglovin’ i couldn’t figure out why! OMG!!!! floored. seriously. booo!! why is it going away??! hahaha
haha and yes i’ve been wanting to pair down my chanel collection for awhile.. since we move so often.. and i don’t really use them all regularly.. there’s 3 i’ve been thinking about selling but everything i do i change my mind about it.. but it’s always the same 3 ARGH!!!! hahaha
Yes, it seems to be an overload on new apps, and things changing in blogland, but I love Bloglovin’ and Google+, so it works out for me. Enjoy the weekend. /Madison 🙂
the google reader news is so sad. i’m still thinking about where to transfer my blog readings to, and hope there is something that’s just as good. i like that i get to go through all of my subscriptions and edit them to what interests me now 🙂

I am so disappointed about the cancellation of google reader, it was very convenient and even though I had Bloglovin I never used it much, it will take some getting used to. I have imported all the GFC blogs to bloglovin through the app they had on their website. Have a wonderful time with your friend, it will be so great catching up!
