This past week, the fashion world turned its eyes towards the Italians for Milan Fashion Week.
Interestingly enough, the colors were somewhat muted and tended to gravitate toward more basic colors such as black, white, and gold. Even the red wasn’t a bold red for summer, but closer to a rust red for fall. The clothing across designers still had the light airiness of warmer weather. There were many interchangeable basics that could be layered for those cooler spring nights. Most pieces are staple pieces created by many designers so you could definitely get the look for less. I almost selected 3 pieces under $100 below, but I would splurge on a nice blazer and it’s still one of the most reasonably priced blazers I could find that is still reminiscent of the designer look.
I selected a few pieces from top designers that inspire what I’d want in my wardrobe now:
Dolce & Gabbana polka dot skirt
The pattern is timeless and I love it in a longer length!
Dot shirttail hem skirt, Ann Taylor, $69.99
Tod’s rust red shirt
A shirt in an easy, breezy cut and bold color are a wardrobe must!
Red pinspot shirt, Wallis, $49.99
Emporio Armani white blazer
A generously cut jacket in a neutral color is so versatile!
Tibi Piqué blazer, The Outnet, $214.99
These are beautiful, I can say that I prefer the longer skirt actually, love the fluted bottom of it. Polka dots are so much fun. And the other two pieces are gorgeous too, so chic and you could pair them with so much. Love it. Happy Tuesday my lovely Xxx
Kizzy, I actually agree with you too. Perhaps this is a time when it would be nice to save and splurge on the original version of the skirt! Thank you for your kind words dear!
Ooh, that Breezy Red Blouse is just perfect! 🙂
love this! i love finding afforadable options for hot pieces
Great looks! I love the polka dot skirt.
What a brilliant post and I simply must have that red shirt in my closet for autumn. It’s beautiful. Happy Tuesday, lovely.
This would make one stunning outfit, and of course I love red, white and blue together.
Lydia, that is brilliant – all these pieces would work well together and of course still cost less than one of the Milan fashion week pieces!
The white blazer has my name on it! looks so sophisticated, great finds! Thanks for sharing your Emmy opinions with me doll…
LOVE that polka dot skirt!
Nice post! I sometimes find it hard to translate the runway looks into things that would work for my wardrobe. Love the white blazer you’ve shown x
Fabulous finds & prices! You are so right! As I was watching the different collections, they are totally dupable (for the most part). It gave me great inspiration for my wardrobe next year 🙂
I love that Dolce and Gabbana skirt- it is gorgeous. Actually, I love all your picks and I think you did a great job at finding beautiful pieces at lower price points.
