What was your favorite gum when you were a kid?
I used to love Hubba Bubba or Bubble Yum for their bold flavors and ability to create large as you can make them bubbles (remember the ones that would be half the size of your face?) Then of course there were the slim and oh so convenient packs of Wrigley’s gum which were thin but packed a nice, minty taste. But seriously, I loved to chew even the gum that would come with my brother’s baseball or other trading cards.
That’s why I thought it was so fun to see Anya Hindmarsh’s bubble gum clutches. There is something about the Bazooka Joe purse that brings me back to my childhood. I would go on a much anticipated trip to the local grocery store by my school and be allowed to pick one candy (which would vary, I like so many!) Now that I’m older, it’s fun to see that I’m not the only one that has fond memories of sweets I loved as a child. I don’t know if I’ll be sporting a bubble gum clutch in the near future (clutches and babies don’t exist together) but I sure love the sense nostalgia and whimsy I get when I see these!
