I love contrasts.
It can be great to see a contrast that is really stark, like that between pink and black. Or it could pair two equally bold, but somewhat unexpected colors like fuchsia and aqua. I like a pairing that can be somewhat unexpected and was inspired when I saw gray and gold together in one of these rooms below. Actually a muted gold can go really well with a gray shade and brings a subtle brightness to gray.
