“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
Maya Angelou
Our lives can be routine. We wake up, eat our favorite meals, go to work, see our friends and family, and repeat it all again. Most of our days, weeks, and months are the same. But I have always been someone that wants to discover and explore new things. That is certainly one of the reasons I love to travel. I like to see what is out there, what else may drive my interests and passions. I also get to gain insight into new cultures and people. It helps me to gain a little more understanding into different people and develop compassion for them as well.
I also like to always infuse my passion and style into whatever I do. It is easy to lose our passion as we go along with everyday routines. But, what would life be without a little passion, compassion, and humor? When I saw this editorial of Fan Bing Bing for Harper’s Bazaar China 30th Anniversary October 2016, I was reminded of both style and passion. It is a good reminder to not just survive, but thrive and live our lives with compassion, grace, and humor. This is an especially important reminder in these tumultuous times and as we remember to give thanks.
Have a lovely week!
That is a gorgeous editorial! I love her in red & black. Rowena has featured her several times. She’s so talented.
That’s one of the reasons I started blogging. The people that live here do the same thing over and over again. I wasn’t learning anything. Since blogging it has exposed me to so many different kinds of people and places I’ve only dreamed about. I definitely want to travel more. I just never wanted to do it by myself. Maybe one day I’ll have to 🙁

Kim, if you ever visit Singapore or NYC, I’ll take you around for some adventures here! We should meet with Rowena one day and just eat around town 😉
Oh I love the clothing and accessories, especially those gloves.
Gorgeous editorial 🙂 xx
A good way to look at things given these times we’re living in right now. Never been a fna of Fan Bing bing but I do quite like Li Bing Bing 🙂
What lovely sentiments to live by and an equally beautiful editorial to match!

Holy cow, I need to know what’s her secret because she’s ageless. I believe she’s in her 30s now? And I swear she looks the same 10 years ago.
