“There’s an ease that I have living in Australia. The best things about Sydney are free: the sunshine’s free, and the harbour’s free, and the beach is free.” Russell Crowe
What do you think of when you think of Australia? I saw this editorial of Emma Boyd for Marie Claire Australia February 2020 and thought of the part of Australia I’d love to explore someday. I visited Melbourne a few years ago on a business trip and it was a lovely city. But I only stayed near the downtown area and didn’t explore much.
I’d love to see the beautiful vistas of Australia. I want to feel cool water between my toes while I’m either visiting the pink waters of Hutt Lagoon to the powerful waves of Bondi Beach. Luckily we are likely going in May since my husband will be on a business trip there anyway. It will be nice to drive and explore a few areas. I’m excited that the kids and I will be experiencing these landscapes for the first time, together. It will also be nice to be in an environment that is a bit more relaxed than our usual urban home.
I do want to make an effort to go to also do my part to contribute to the local economy and show my kids firsthand the sites that we must all protect. I can’t believe more than a billion animals have perished in the recent wildfires. While the world is generally going topsy turvy in so many ways, let us not forget to save the animals and give to other areas in need including local fire departments, governments, and rural communities. I can’t wait to plan this trip!
Have a lovely week!
My thoughts have been on Australia lately because of the devastating bushfires. I hope they will be able to recover and become stronger than ever.
My heart breaks for Australia, they need all the supports they can get. :
It’s great you will get to visit Australia soon! I hope you love it – it truly is a beautiful country and we are lucky to be here! The devastaTion has been hard to see but everyone is getting busy at getting those who need it back up on their feet (check out the pics of the army helping with the rescued koalas on kangaroo island to melt your heart!)
Hope that your week is going well 🙂
