How do you celebrate love?
I think that one should demonstrate or show her partner love every day. But I suppose we can all get caught up in our daily lives and may not get to show our partners how much we love them. While I don’t have to visit an over priced restaurant on Valentine’s Day (why do places force you into a “special” menu!) I think it is nice to dedicate time to our partners on this day and do something fun together. After all, quality time together is one of the few things that money can’t buy.
Here are a few savvy but chic ways to commemorate the day:
1. I made whisky truffles last year and may do it again this year…they are that good and it is hard to resist a handmade truffle from a loved one (or a handmade truffle period!)
2. How about a delightful goody bag filled with your love’s favorite treats? Along Abbey Road made these adorable bags.
3. The mix tape comes in the digital age now that playlists can be seamlessly created from your computer. I’m part of #HTCOne #TroopOneX and have loved playing around with my phone which is equipped with Beats Audio. A playlist my husband made for me consists of modern classics like “I want to hold your hand” by Al Green (a fun twist on the original Beatles version) and “Nothin’ can change this love” by Sam Cooke.
4. A classic card is always nice and a home made one, like this one via Honey my Heart is extra special!
5. Fill a mason jar with your loved one’s favorite snacks – nuts, candies, popcorn…there are so many tasty possibilities!
Remember that you can get into the mood with a swipe of bright lipstick, a red piece of apparel, and a fun heart manicure.
What are your favorite Valentine’s Day DIY projects?
ahh! thanks so much for linking to my DIY! i really like all the other ones you posted, especially the decorated goodie bags. what a treat to get treats in such a pretty bag.
Thanks for posting such a lovely tutorial dear!
I am not a celebrator of Valentines Day, but I love your ideas for birthdays and other events. The goodie bag, homemade card and mason jar is such lovely gifts, thanks for the inspiration.
If u love me….u will send me via air mail your whiskey truffles. No plans for me, I have no valentine as usual.
You are awesome B and if I figured out how to keep them cold, I’d send them over! How about some other treats from this side of the world? That truffle making guy will be along some time!
Swoon! The Goodie Bags are truly too cute – I’m in love! 🙂
i admit – i don’t do much .. i just have wide open eyes to what i’m getting from ‘him’ … BUT next year i’m planning a GIRLS v-day party (i had one the last few years) – those are so much fun!
a V Day party with girlfriends sounds like so much fun! My dear, you HAVE to check out my last post. You are mentioned and you will love it!
These are all great ideas! I haven’t given a ton of thought to Valentine’s Day this year, but I love the homemade card idea and I always keep plenty of craft supplies around 🙂
Those gift bags are so cute!
If I did have a date for valenties day, I’d want to go out, prefixe menus and all. I mean, you’ve got to do it at least once right?
I can sit at home and make all the candy I want all by myself.
I tend to celebrate love daily other it can easily slip away if one saves celebrating only for special moments;)
Well said my dear! I try to celebrate love and show my appreciation for loved ones often too!
Great ideas! Those whiskey truffles look so tasty!
I’m all about the mason jar idea. Super cute! And reuseable!
