Designer Thursday – Rachel Zoe Fall 2011 aka the nicer side of the 1970s

May 5, 2011

Chic 70s looks reign supreme in Rachel Zoe’s first collection for Fall 2011.  The clothing certainly reflects her refined, boho chic style as well as this season’s overall 1970s love.

Prices will be in the $100 – $600 range (full tuxedo look for $700 and day dress for $250) and Rachel envisions her clothing alongside Philip Lim, DVF, and Mark Jacobs in high end department stores.

The outfits below make the case for a strong, red tuxedo and the prettiest cape I’ve ever seen.  I’d love to see the quality of these pieces firsthand and would hope the styling and fit would be flattering.

So what do you think of this collection?  Will the 1970s revival continue to go strong?

the whole 70’s thing is only going to last so long (sadly), so i’m not sure how long SHE’LL last next to philip lim and dvf unless she evolves. i like some of the stuff here, but it’s a little predictable, no?
