The High / Low section of Style at Home is pure, inspired genius for decor and design lovers.  Their creative team styles two, almost identical rooms for a situation or place in your home – a wine and cheese party, lounge, living area etc.  The crucial difference is that one of the rooms costs thousands of dollars less to style!  I find quality decor a bit expensive, but love the inspiration here. The lower cost items came from an array of familiar mass retailers (Pottery Barn, IKEA, Homesense, Pier 1) as well as specialists that were lower cost (e.g. chairtablelamp.blogspot.com).  I love the ideas and the message that great decor may be available at a much more affordable price elsewhere!
Here are some favorites:
Boudoir High – $10,101
Boudoir Low –Â $4,194
Vignette- $3,457

Amazing! I like some of the less expensive re-dos more than the originals. And the pink is gorgeous!
That pink room is amazing! I love the idea that great style can be had at any price point!
They look almost exact! I had to keep scrolling up and down to see the difference! LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors and decor! http://www.fashionatabargain.blogspot.com/
Is it bad that both spaces gave me sticker shock? Lol. I think these lovely rooms can be created for even less! The first room is certainly my favorite, I’ve got a thing for PINK! 🙂
You know I’m a sucker for bright bold color! Gorgeous.
Wow, these are great! It just goes to show that you can often get identical results for a less expensive price.
that’s so creative! the spaces look pratically the same and are much cheaper! love this!
Amazing spaces!
Love the dressing room!

I would LOVE to redecorate my room in a bright color. It would really add some fun to the atmosphere.

Love that first room!

Wow some of these rooms looked identical to me at first glance – I think they do a great job with this feature. Even though some of the low prices are still high to me – lol!
Wow. You can barely tell the rooms apart, but the price difference – insane!! Love seeing this.
i love this series of high and low! I ended up like the low ones more actually! The first set is stunning! xo
the lower cost items look just as good, and in some cases even better, than the higher costs settings. lovely post!
wow, i love these comparisons – they did such a great job!
Chic on the Cheap
I am SO bad about decor once it’s in my place I don’t move anything and I don’t change anything around. Although recently the pull on my honeycomb shades went out…the thread totally thinned out and broke. I am in fear of finding out what a new set will cost, it came w/my condo. ahhh.
Beautiful rooms, wish I knew where to find that small horse picture in the first shot, I love it!

When the time comes to move to another apartment in NYC, I swear I will be decorating our new place with colors and patterns. Right now we are subletting and we can’t but ahhh!! once we get our new place get ready!! 🙂

Very interesting splurge vs steal on interior decorating. This goes on to show that our homes can look just as good without having to spend a ton of money.
