Subtle, shiny, and reflective.
An instant way to open up a room.
I’m looking for some great mirrors for our walls (sigh since out apartment is lovely but not exactly huge) ever since seeing these lovely photos.

We used to have a mirrored wall in our living room growing up; I even remember putting up those packets of mirrored squares as I tried to be a helpful 8 year-old. I thought it was cheesy but now kinda love it. What do you think? Chic ‘n Cheap or not?
I love those pictures !!
Depending on how you use it, I don’t think it looks cheesy…and as you mentioned, it really opens up the room.

done right, I love them.
And thanks so much for your comment on my blog! Our business here in greece is that we build green homes … hopefully building our own home in the near future as well! 🙂
Like the other two people said, it’s definitely up to how you use them. I mean, it could be totally chic like your pics or could be totally sick – a la cheap motel complete with vibrating bed… 😉
<3 it.
and (as much as i’m outgrowing them) ikea has some awesome mirrors for cheapo.
i love the second photo, did you see the whole house? it’s amazing, and the mirror wall was all made by the owner, amazing!!
I would LOVE to find a great big mirror in a gilt frame for our apartment, but we don’t have a single wall that is big enough for it. Maybe once we have a house. They really do wonders for opening up the space.
I love mirrors! I have a bunch of round mirrors (that I used under the centerpieces at my wedding) that I need to make use of. It’s a little harder to come up with ideas with the round ones than the squares.
haha you’re so right. my grandparents & aunt had them too and i used to think they were cheesy. now i’m starting to like the idea again. these are great examples of it done right. looove the 2nd one especially 🙂
love it. i really like the look of an oversized mirror for the living room.
I have a big mirror in my hallway and people always bump into it…they think it’s another room there:)):))
I love the idea! I have mirrored furniture everywhere in our apartment (mostly from Z Gallerie – obsessed!). I would totally do a mirrored wall, even though in my case, it would probably be overkill. Do it! xxSAS
mirrors are fab! but i’m not crazy about a whole wall of them. just some on the wall opens up it and makes it all fab.
and the mirror in the bedroom thing? bleh! i HATE those mirrored closets, but the boys certainly seem to like them. LOL.
you know, i’m a fan of mirrored walls. i don’t get why people hate them sometimes. when done right, they can make an okay room look like a wow room.
I love mirrored walls. I wish my apartment had one. When I was a little girl I used to think our house was SO BIG because that mirrored wall just made it seem huge. Well, I went back after 15 years a while ago and in reality it wasn’t that big. Lol. But the mirror sure did work wonders!
So, I say chic indeed! xoxo
Thank you for entering the Beso and I am Style-ish $250 giveaway. As an avid reader of your blog, I always look forward to your daily post. I enjoyed reading your most recent blog and due to your suggestion, I may just be in the market to find a mirror so I can create the impression of open space in my apartment.

We have two Ikea mirrored squares in our bedroom framed in a fun bold blue. I can’t quite explain the placement, but we have them on the same wall, in a geometric pattern in combination with white space (actually, our walls are a warm beige, but whatever). We love them. They open the room with more light and the hanging-design is really chic too. And cheap. I say go for it.
I’ll echo the others and say it looks great if done correctly, like in the photos you have posted. Mirrors can look elegant or garish (think early 80s), but they really do open up the room so much, it’s worth a shot!
I agree with the ladies! Done they right way, the can look beautiful!
