My favorite kind of DIY is the kind where I barely have to do anything!
A really fun way to feel as savvy as Martha and as elegant as Aerin is to look at familiar objects and use them in different ways. There is no need to buy a hodgepodge of glues, tools, and trinkets – just use something you already have in another part of your home.
I bought a few of these gorgeous crystal candy jars and didn’t just envision them holding treats in the living room. I also have many, many more things that could be organized in a beautiful container and decided to use this in my bathroom. I really like keeping my beauty products handy and dust free. This would also be a great organizer to consolidate all the items you use in your daily routine. Most importantly, I didn’t have the counter space for a larger organizer and liked that I can still easily grab items from this jar.
Here are my tips for using a covered jar as a cosmetics holder.
1. Gather cosmetics of a similar category (moisturizers, eye makeup, daily routine, etc.).
2. Ensure that you pick objects that can fit in to the jar lengthwise.
3. Keep the jar towards the back and remember to clean under it!
How would you use a covered jar in your bathroom?
Hiya lovely!! This is a great idea, I love buying jars like these to use for different things around the house, plus they look so lovely on display next to flowers, books and other things. And it doesn’t matter what the room colours are, they go in perfectly with every colour. Very nice. Happy Wednesday doll xx
Very cute – I’ve been using one of these for my cotton balls and I love it. Something about lifting that glass lid makes me happy.
This sounds like such a stylish and useful organizer! And yeah, DIYs where you barely have to do anything are awesome. 🙂
What a great idea and the jars are beautiful:) Have a sunny day, lovely.
i read this as a candy-covered jar. clearly, i need coffee! 😉
I love using crystal/glass covered jars in the bathroom— makes the everyday pieces seem so much more elegant! I have put cotton balls, Qtips and such in them. In smaller jars I’ve added bobby pins, hair ties and other smaller objects.
